AEB Secretary General, Edmund Gakiza at GTP Programme
On 11-15 December, the Secretary General of the Association of Evangelicals in Burundi, Mr. Edmund Gakiza, participated in a series of activities in Kampala, Uganda, following an official invitation from the leadership of the Christian organization Global Trust Partners (GTP). GTP is an international Christian organization that collaborates with World Evangelical Alliance.
The visit brought together Christian leaders and partners from different countries for a time of learning and exchange. The activities focused on strengthening ethical leadership, promoting good governance and stewardship.It served as an opportunity to equip Christian leaders to serve with integrity, accountability, and faithfulness in their respective spheres of influence.
At the conclusion of the training sessions, the founder of Global Trust Partners at the global level, Dr. Gary Hoag, expressed his appreciation for the commitment and leadership demonstrated by Mr. Gakiza. In recognition of his experience and contribution, Dr. Hoag requested the Secretary General of AEB to serve as the National Coordinator of Global Trust Partners in Burundi.
In this new role, Mr. Gakiza will play a key part in supporting the official launch of GTP’s activities in Burundi. His responsibilities will include coordinating the organization’s presence in the country, organizing and training local facilitators, and ensuring effective monitoring of program implementation. This appointment marks an important step in strengthening collaboration between AEB and Global Trust Partners.
The leadership of AEBI warmly welcomes this development and looks forward to the positive impact that Global Trust Partners’ programs will have in Burundi through this growing partnership.
